IRON MAIDEN Singer Goes 'Trainspotting'
October 18, 2004According to a posting on the IRON MAIDEN fan site MaidenFans.com, MAIDEN frontman Bruce Dickinson will be a special guest of the "Trainspotting" show on the U.K. TV channel Discovery Home and Leisure on Friday, October 22.
A brief description of the show reads as follows: "Presenter Mark Collins teams up with heavy metal legend and IRON MAIDEN frontman Bruce Dickinso on a steam train driving day at the Bluebell Railway."
The channel is available on Sky Digital, cable or broadband.
As previously reported, Dickinson will be hosting a five-part documentary series about airplanes, tentatively titled "Flying Heavy Metal", that is being produced by the U.K.-based Ricochet production company.
The upcoming series is being described as follows: "IRON MAIDEN rock legend and professional pilot Bruce Dickinson charts the evolution of the passenger aeroplane, the documentary is made for Discovery Channel and will be a series of five 30-minute features."
The production gives a winter 2005 timeframe, but Eric Fetter — who penned an article about the series for the The Herald — kindly told Maidenfans.com that "as far as an air date in Europe, Bruce said he expects it to be on there in February. It may also show on the Discovery Channel [in the U.S.], but that's still up in the air."
